Sengkang

Sengkang is a city located in a north-eastern part of Singapore. It used to be a fishing harbour surrounded with pepper and rubber plantations, vegetable and pig farms; and fisherman villages.

Today, it is a rising suburban area with plenty of residential blocks, shopping centres and restaurants. It is mostly residential area, but it can be a convenient location to base yourself during your stay in Singapore.

The main highlights of Sengkang are the two rivers which run through the township. The Sungei Punggol and Sungei Serangoon attracts wildlife to this area including wetland birds and beautiful dragonflies. Sengkang also houses a swimming complex where you can swim in the training pool, competition pool, jacuzzi, or have some fun down one of the eight water slides. For those looking for swimming lessons, lessons are offered for both children and adults and specially designed courses.

There are also a number of shopping centres in the town centre where you can purchase clothing, shoes, bags, accessories and electrical items.

Public transport is Sengkang is world-class with the Sengkang MRT/LRT and Sengkang Bus interchanges being fully integrated in one building. This allows seamless travel between the different services and opens up Singapore to every traveller.
