The Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall is one of the oldest entertainment venues in Singapore. Its impressive architecture makes it perhaps the best among the many performing venues in the country.
It’s the official home of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, but its long history is nothing short of fascinating.

The Victoria Memorial Hall was constructed right next to the Town Hall, but both of their facades shared a Palladian style of architecture. A clock tower was built to unite both structures, and the Town Hall was retitled the Victoria Theatre.
By 1979, the theatre expanded with the addition of a gallery. This was followed by the memorial hall being renamed the Victoria Concert Hall, and it became the official residence of Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
Through the decades, the theatre underwent a handful of renovations in order to better serve the public with state-of-the-art acoustics and luxurious facilities while preserving its heritage. It even shut down from 2010 to 2014 as it underwent its largest renovation to date. The Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall was gazetted a National Monument in 1992.
It now includes a dance studio and music studio, on top of its existing theatre and concert hall. The various venues within the establishment can accommodate dance performances, plays, musicals, concerts, seminars, award ceremonies, orchestras, choral concerts, recitals, and meetings.
