Ang Mo Kio

Ang Mo Kio is one of the seven new towns of Singapore located in the northeast of the country and is a reputable tourist destination.

Originally, Ang Mo Kio was a settlement of rubber plantation workers who were later relocated for construction of the new town. Currently, the centre includes seven districts, mega malls, hawker centres and two MRT stations.

Amongst the most notable tourist attractions is the new Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. What started as a rehabilitation project is now a green park with water-edged walkways and playgrounds for kids. Moreover, there is a huge array of diverse wildlife in the park and man-made water features.

if you are looking for a place to take the kids to cool down during the hot Singaporean days, then Ang Mo Kio is perfect for you. Stepping stones, river bridges and other water features make the park unique and more than appealing.

Any visitor to this town must also pay a visit the AMK hub which is a fantastic shopping complex. But AMK is so much more than just a shopping venue as it has plenty of entertainment and learning centres here. The hub has more than 200 shops that sell a wide range of products and services. You can also access banking and health care services here. For entertainment, there are arcade machines, a cinema complex and a club.

When it comes to transport, Ang Mo Kio has a well-developed networks of highly organised road infrastructure; two mass transit stations (Ang Mo Kio and Yio Chu Kang) and a bus interchange. The town is connected to the country’s transport system by the Central expressway.
