Seletar is a residential area in the north-western region of Singapore. The name itself alludes to the aboriginal coastal dwellers who inhabited the area before the residential area arose.

It is interesting to note that the modern Seletar had once been a site of mangrove forests and rubber trees which were later cleared out to make way for modern settlements. Seletar is one of the few older areas in Singapore which were inhabited in the pre-British era.
