Developed with the theme of “Family Leisure”, Punggol Park has facilities and activities for the whole family. Children can play with each other on the playground, while families can relax in the plaza area. The lush, dense trees provide a cool shaded area for families to picnic, while the bicycle paths allow cyclists to leisurely ride around the park.
There is also something for the avid angler, who can try to catch their next big fish at one of the park’s fishing promenades that are located around the outside of the 5-hectare pond.
If you find any of these activities are too much, you can also just sit back and relax at the outdoor dining area of the Five & 2 restaurant located at the southern end of the park.
For those looking for more passive forms of activity, the shady paths at the northern end of the park are an excellent place for a stroll or to enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding area. It is also a good pit stop for joggers to take a rest or do to some light stretching on the fitness equipment before recommencing their run.
Punggol Park is located at the junction of Hougang Avenue 8 and 10. The park is open 24 hours a day, with lighting hours between 7pm and 7am. It’s worth noting that kite flying is not permitted due to the proximity of the nearby Paya Lebar Air Base.
