The Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple is an old temple built to worship the god Vishnu. It’s one of Singapore’s earliest religious monuments, whose history dates back to 1855.
Originally known as the Narasinga Perumal Kovil, the temple was built by heads of the Hindu community.

A wealthy merchant by the name of Mr P Govindasamy Pillai made generous donations and helped oversee the refurbishment. It reopened in 1965 and in 1978, was declared a national monument.
Conveniently located by Little India, this temple is highly recommended if you’re in the area. Its design is reflective of South Indian temple shrines; its walls feature rows upon rows of gods and goddesses in elaborate carvings. One of its most striking elements is the gopuram, whose six tiers are embellished with statues.
Another highlight is the ostentatious geometric designs found in the main temple ceiling, which embodies the universe and its nine planets. The main temple houses the image of Lord Vishu as well as his consorts, namely Lakshmi and Andal, and Garuda, his bird carrier.
The temple courtyard has a well which once served as the main source of water for devotees. This is also where you will find the Tulasi plant, which is considered sacred by the Hindus. A wedding hall within the complex is a popular venue for Hindu weddings. Thevaram classes, Project Bhakti, and homeopathy, are among the services offered by the temple.
Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple is located at 397 Serangoon Road, Singapore. Opening hours are from 6:30am to 12pm, and 6pm to 9pm.
Do I need to book tickets for thaipusam paalkudham

Looking at the official template websites, it does state that “Fully vaccinated devotees will only be allowed inside the Temple on Thaipusam day and
Pre-booking is required for Milk Pot (Paalkudam) and Temple visit. Note that the booking system hasn’t been opened yet.
There are a number of changes for the 2022 event, which can all be viewed at the media release located at https://www.sttemple.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Media-Release-for-Thaipusam-2022.pdf.
There are quite a number of changes, but the ones that likely relate to you are:
– Only pre-booked devotees, via the online portal, who are able to display the online confirmation, will be allowed to take the Pre-prepared Paal Kudams. Any devotee offering Paal Kudam can only be accompanied by one person.
– General devotees who wish to enter the temple to pray must also pre-book their time slots online to comply with the safe management measures in the Temple. Those without pre-booking will NOT be allowed to enter the Temple.
– All entering Sri Thendayuthapani Temple will have to use the TraceTogether App or token to scan their entry. No NRIC or other ID scanning will be available at the entry point.
