The Fullerton Waterboat House

The Fullerton Waterboat House is a beautiful, modern European-style restaurant located in the Marina Bay waterfront in Singapore. It was built in 1919 in an Art Deco style to serve a freshwater supply to incoming ships.

After several renovations and changes in management, it’s now one of the most stunning areas to dine in.

The first renovation was conducted in March 2002 by the Sino Group, and in 2003 it was opened as a restaurant. The new glass annex on the first floor also saw the addition of a souvenir shop.

In September 2003, a French restaurant by the name of Le Saint Julien was opened in the ground floor, with Chef Sir Julien Bompard at the helm. The establishment was granted the distinguished Architectural Heritage Award in 2005 by the Urban Redevelopment Authority to acknowledge the workmanship of its recent restorations, which included adding a shiny, new glass annex.

By January 2010, the restaurant was renamed the Boathouse, and changes also came with the addition of a rooftop bar named Prelude; located on the third floor. In 2013, Le Saint Julien shut down and moved to a new location. Starbucks, an American coffee shop chain, took over and opened its 100^th shop in Singapore.

New management took over in 2015, and the changes meant a complete rebranding; Boathouse restaurant and Prelude bar were now rebranded as 1919 Waterboat House, to commemorate the year it was built, its namesake, and the reopening date: November 19, 2015.

The Fullerton Waterboat House is located at 3 Fullerton Road in Singapore. Opening hours from Monday to Friday are 12pm to 2:30pm for lunch and 6pm to 11pm for dinner. On Saturdays, dinner is served between 6pm to 11pm.
