Paya Lebar

Paya Lebar is a suburb located in northeast Singapore. Paya Lebar used to be infamous because it was crowded with squatters. Nowadays, the people who live there earn their living largely through rearing animals such as pigs and chickens and selling their meat and other products.

The suburb is well-connected to the mainland of Singapore and also houses the Paya Lebar Air Base which is used by the Singapore military. An Air Force Museum is located here and is open to the public for viewing. Here, you will find exhibitions which showcase the history of the air-force as well as information on current capabilities.

Some of the most popular restaurant and food choices in Paya Lebar include the Geylang Serai Market & Food Centre at the Geylang Serai area and the Mr & Mrs Mohgan’s Super Crispy Roti Prater in 7 Crane Road, where you can enjoy delectable ethnic cuisine. If you feel like having a pub meal, or even McDonald’s, they are also located here.

You can travel Paya Lebar using the MRT which connects to the overground East West Line trains (green line) and underground Circle Line trains (orange line).
